Our family is anxiously waiting to see Jack Hennessy Memorial Park instated. His ultimate sacrifice was so great. Renaming a town park is the least we can do.

I didn't have the pleasure of serving with him, but I know people who did, and they speak very highly of him. While he may no longer walk the earth, he is surely guarding the gates with all of our other fallen brothers and sisters welcoming us home with open arms.

If in renaming this park the board is concerned about setting a precedent, I submit what better precedent could we possibly set? If, God forbid, another Naperville resident dies in the line of duty and was a resident of a neighborhood with a park, then he/she should also have the honor of having the park named after them.
